How to report an unwanted phone number?

Report an abusive number in France: TelCheck, Signal Conso, ARCEP Signaux Faibles, Bloctel and official complaint. Complete guide to reporting channels.

Reporting an unwanted number takes only a few seconds, but this simple act protects thousands of other people. In France, several official and community channels allow you to report an abusive number. This guide explains how, where and why to report.

Report on TelCheck: protect the community in real time

TelCheck (telcheck.fr) is the most responsive community reporting platform. Search for the number, click "Report", choose the relevant category (scam, canvassing, spam, silent, robot…) and add a comment describing the call's content. The more numerous and precise the reports, the more reliable the number's reputation score is for potential future victims. A well-written comment — mentioning the scam scenario, the words used by the caller, or the information requested — has immense protective value.

Report on Signal Conso (signalconso.gouv.fr)

Signal Conso is the DGCCRF's (Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control) official reporting platform. It allows you to report unfair commercial practices, including abusive telephone canvassing. Your reports feed DGCCRF investigations and can lead to sanctions against offending companies. The form is simple and accessible without a mandatory account.

Report to ARCEP via Signaux Faibles

ARCEP (the French electronic communications regulator) operates the "Signaux Faibles" system (arcep.fr) to collect reports on telecommunications service quality, including abusive numbers. Reports to ARCEP are particularly relevant for violations of numbering rules (fraudulent use of premium-rate numbers, non-compliance with the permitted abandoned call rate).

Report to Bloctel for non-registered canvassers

If you are registered on Bloctel (bloctel.gouv.fr) and continue to receive commercial canvassing calls, you can report the offending numbers directly on the Bloctel platform. Companies that do not respect the Bloctel register face administrative fines of up to €375,000.

File a complaint for harassment or scam

If you have been the victim of a scam, or if unwanted calls constitute genuine harassment (repeated calls despite your request to stop), you can file a complaint with the police or gendarmerie, or online via the Perceval platform (for bank card fraud) or service-public.fr. Keep evidence: screenshots of call history, recordings if legally permissible, received messages.

Block the number on your phone

Alongside official reports, block the number on your smartphone. On iPhone, tap the "i" next to the number in your history and select "Block this Caller". On Android, long-press the number and choose "Block / Report as spam". These actions complement official reports and protect you immediately.
